Our Library is staffed by a Teacher-Librarian and a Library-aide and these staff are in attendance on Thursday and Friday. The library has a computerised borrowing system and programs to assist students with all their research and publishing activities.
Library staff promote and aim to develop in all students an appreciation of literature. Monitoring of new publications and purchasing of new quality resources is an ongoing process to ensure our resources match children’s interests and instructional needs of the teachers.
The Library Staff support students to not only to develop skills to access and analyse hard copy resources but also online resources.
Children are encouraged to borrow from our extensive library. Library books provide an opportunity for parents and children to develop and foster a love of reading. Library borrowing day is generally Thursday morning. All children need a library bag for borrowing. Please assist us in ensuring books and resources are cared for and returned by the due date. Parents may be asked to pay for damaged or lost books.
Scholastic Book Club and Book Fair
Children and parents may purchase books through Scholastic Book Club or Annual Book Fair in October. Book Club brochures are sent home with the Newsletter throughout the year. The school is given a small credit with each purchase made by our families. These credits are then used to purchase more resources for our school or prize books for Speech and Awards Evening.
