Relationships
At St Finbarr’s we believe that it is essential that parents and teachers develop quality relationships based on gospel values. It is essential that parents and teachers work together to ensure the best education for the children. Features of these quality relationships include co-operation, mutual respect, courtesy, discretion, fairness, honesty, consideration and compassion.
Should any concerns arise, please feel free to make an appointment to see the Principal and/or staff as they will be more than willing to discuss any matters. Please see the St Finbarr’s Issue Resolution Policy and Procedures for the required procedures in such times.

Other Communication
The School Office is attended by Administration Staff between 9 am and 3 pm. The Principal will often be able to take calls before and after these times but if the office is unattended please leave a message on the answering machine.
Teachers should not be contacted on their personal mobile phones. During school hours the use of mobile phones is strongly discouraged and messages may not be received. Please contact the office or Principal mobile if you need to contact your child’s teacher or to pass a message onto your child.
Under no circumstances should a teacher be contacted on their mobile phone with regard to any incident that may have occurred during the school day. Telephone or personal contact through the office or the Principal is the preferred method of communication.
Teachers are often making final preparations for the school day before school. If you need to pass messages on to your teacher, please keep these as brief as possible or make arrangements to meet at a more convenient time.
